What is he even trying to do??

I came across this vid on le webernet and it seems to beg the question ''If this is an audition for America's next Top Thing' then how would jumping over loads of chairs get him a spot?

I used to do this in summer camp, it was cool when you could jump over lots of chairs then but not cool now....especially when you manage to knock yourself out!

LESSON : Jumping over loads of chairs is mostly a mistake.

Enjoy...

Chewy Chocolate Cookies Interview

So we sent CCC an interview and this is what came out the other side....

Carefull, some of the questions have been answered by cookies!!

- Firstly, the name, where did it come from?

It's a secret...if you want I can reveal it but then I have to kill you...

- What type of music was your first love?

"Supermarkets music"...I spent a long time on a supermarket shelf, in the "Biscuits & Sweets" section..."supermakets music" all day long...

- What were you doing before you started making music?

In the beginning I was just flour, butter, eggs & sugar after that I became a dough waiting to be baked,

and now here i am...

- What made you get into music?

I was bored of "supermarkets music", and one day, I remember it like it was yesterday,

I said to my self: "enough is enough...I want to make something different, I want to make "supermarkets techno music"!"

that's how all started...

- Who on the dance music scene are you inspired by?

I don't know if they are into dance music, but "Oreo" and "Jaffa Cakes" are my inspiring muses...

- Where did you start on the musical ladder? Dj? Band? Promoter?

I started in a supermarket, during the night, when it was closed...

me, and my friends Oreo and Jaffa Cakes, started to think about it...we started with sweet JAM sessions...

you know, it's like when you are in school and you and your classmates, start thinking about putting a band together ...

"I can do this, you can do that..."

- What has been the hardest thing about getting yourself noticed as an artist?

Nowadays there are a lot of cookies around..small, big, crunchy, soft...

and it has been really difficult to find my space on the shelf...but, you know,

if you are good, people start to talk about you and then the sky is the limit...

- What's the best thing you've heard from someone at the end of one of your gigs?

"...hey cookie, you have melted my face!!!"

- Have you ever had underwear thrown at you while playing a gig?

I usually throw mine...but I hope to get some in Dublin!

- What has been the best place in the world you have played so far?

Let's say a couple...

few years ago, I was in miami for the WMC and I ended up

on the roof of a 5stars hotel with armand van helden playing cheese 80's music...

and then, more recently, Seoul... everything (the party, the club,

the promoters..) was great but the bugs...they eat them..can you believe it?!

- What is the best club at home to gig?

Sainsbury's ....there is something about that place, something magic, a great atmosphere...

I think it's Jamie Oliver that make it special...

- If your last gig was tomorrow and you could play anywhere, where would you want to play?

Kazantip, the rave republic!...3 months non-stop party!!!

- What is your favourite home-cooked food?

My mum's pasta al forno or pizza...gnam gnam!!!!

(this is actually me answering, not the cookies...)

- Are you a Mac or a PC?

Both, mac is cool, pc is cheaper...

Do you use much hardware to make your music or mostly software?

Just software...ideas are important, not machines...

- What's your favourite part of the music making process?

I don't have a favourite part...I like the early stage, finding the right sample or a good synth...

and I like the end, when you test the track in a club...everything is great about making music...

- How do you choose what songs you remix? Do people ask you to remix their songs or

do you offer?

Most of CCC remixes were born as a dj tool for CCC set, then people started asking me for rmxs and that's how it started...

but I usually love to make rmxs of artists I like, and then post them for free dwnld on my website...

it's my "hommage" to artists I love and respect...

- Do you have an album or another E.P. in the makings?

New CCC Ep coming soon...SOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD !!!

if you are lucky enough to see CCC live, you can have a listen to new stuff...sweeet!

- What can we expect from Chewy Chocolate Cookies in '09?

A lot!! new ep, album maybe, australia, asia and US tour...fingers crossed!!

- Finally.....Can you actually bake nice cookies? If so, can you bring some to Dublin?

Of course...milk chocolate or dark chocolate?

Thanks, can't wait to melt some faces in Dublin!..

please, please, please, bring your airhorns and don't forget to wear nice and comfy trainers..you'll jump A LOT!!!

Return Of The Mack (Wax)

YYYYEEEESSSSSS!!!!!

So it seemsl ike we're all set for Wax to open up again this week after a prolonged closure, which seemed unending.

But with Wax teetering on the border of being open this week we could see our favourite basement disco party back in action to signify the centre of the weeks party times!!

So with fingers crossed we look forward into the not too distant future, being tomorrow night, and get ready for an electro climax the likes of which has never been felt.

Hold on to your granny!!!

To celebrate here's a track that does nothing short of what it says on the tin.

Time For Porty!!

Chemistry Celebrates It's First Birthday Dangerously!!

The time has finally come for Chemistry to celebrate its first birthday on September 24th!

We've come a long way for what started out in humble beginnings as a small monthly operation in Citi Bar… and who could have predicted that it would have grown into what it is now?

Chemistry booked, Feadz of Ed Banger Records, for its first major act in Wax on the 14th of November last year. Unsurprisingly, Feadz blew the faces off everyone who jammed their gyrating limbs into the club.

At the end of January 2008 Chemistry expanded its horizons from just the basement of Wax to include the venue of Spy and divided its music interests accordingly, by adding two by-monthly indie resident DJs to man (and woman) the decks upstairs.

Since then, there has been a steady flow of acts from both home and abroad including: Deadbots, Teenage Bad Girl, Sourcecode, DatA, Mr Myagi, Hystereo and Kavinsky. Add to that a weekly turn out of over 600 people, and it looks like Chemisty will be around to see itself through another few birthday celebrations…

But for now, Chemistry is kicking off its second year in style with the dirty French electro producer Danger who is performing a live Audio Visual Set on the 24th of September.

Danger

Danger is one of newest entries to to hit the quality french label Ekler'o'oshock which counts the likes of DatATerry Poison and Chewy Chocolate Cookies, in its ranks.

Only 23 years old , 'Danger' (real name Frank Rivoire), being both illustrator and graphic designer in training, is one of the brightest newcomers on the Electro scene.

His first E.P. , named simply E.P. I, was released in late 2007 featuring heavy electro etudes like '19H11' , '14H54'  and '11H30' (also including a remix by fellow Ekler'o'shock artist DatA for 11H30). With the impending release of his much awaited second E.P., Danger is set to climb the ranks of the Electro scene even further.

His catalogue of remixes stretch further than the dance scene alone, He's completed remixes for
Kanye West - ('American Boy'), We are scientists ('Chick Lit') and his current masterpiece is an unbelieveable remix of the French entry to the Eurovision song contest, 'Divine' by Sebastien Tellier.

''His music is the image of feelings and the most extreme feelings of our existence; ecstasy, anxiety, fright, sublime, death throes. It is a matter here of life and death, win, but under no circumstances, defeat.''
                                                -Ekler'o'shock Records

Not only is Danger performing live, he'll be accompanied by a full live visual show, to better convey the emotions he feels are attached to his music...

Danger is set to be one of the most impressive shows that Chemistry has ever seen (or might see!), and CAN'T be missed!

Find Danger tracks and remixes here

Danger plays a Live Audio/Visual Set at Chemistry on the 24th of September as part of our 1st Birthday,
alongside our two brand spankin new electro room residents

A Side Note......

Free monkey for anyone who turns up to Chemistry dressed like our favourite musical powerhouse sex-god!!*

Chemistry does its first post.

So everyone is going back to college now, and Jade Goody is on crack, so that's that!

This is the first post on the blog so i wouldn't expect much as I'm new to this jingle, but i'll try.....

Chemistry last night was interesting with the addition of the new soundsystem in wax and appeared to be the bassiest system in the world, which could pressumeably induce child birth in the early stages of pregnancy.
Some teething problems obviously, but no complaints, so maybe it might stay that way.

More to follow......
