Chemistry Celebrates It's First Birthday Dangerously!!
The time has finally come for Chemistry to celebrate its first birthday on September 24th!
We've come a long way for what started out in humble beginnings as a small monthly operation in Citi Bar… and who could have predicted that it would have grown into what it is now?
Chemistry booked, Feadz of Ed Banger Records, for its first major act in Wax on the 14th of November last year. Unsurprisingly, Feadz blew the faces off everyone who jammed their gyrating limbs into the club.
At the end of January 2008 Chemistry expanded its horizons from just the basement of Wax to include the venue of Spy and divided its music interests accordingly, by adding two by-monthly indie resident DJs to man (and woman) the decks upstairs.
Since then, there has been a steady flow of acts from both home and abroad including: Deadbots, Teenage Bad Girl, Sourcecode, DatA, Mr Myagi, Hystereo and Kavinsky. Add to that a weekly turn out of over 600 people, and it looks like Chemisty will be around to see itself through another few birthday celebrations…
But for now, Chemistry is kicking off its second year in style with the dirty French electro producer Danger who is performing a live Audio Visual Set on the 24th of September.
Danger
Danger is one of newest entries to to hit the quality french label Ekler'o'oshock which counts the likes of DatA, Terry Poison and Chewy Chocolate Cookies, in its ranks.
Only 23 years old , 'Danger' (real name Frank Rivoire), being both illustrator and graphic designer in training, is one of the brightest newcomers on the Electro scene.
His first E.P. , named simply E.P. I, was released in late 2007 featuring heavy electro etudes like '19H11' , '14H54' and '11H30' (also including a remix by fellow Ekler'o'shock artist DatA for 11H30). With the impending release of his much awaited second E.P., Danger is set to climb the ranks of the Electro scene even further.
His catalogue of remixes stretch further than the dance scene alone, He's completed remixes for
Kanye West - ('American Boy'), We are scientists ('Chick Lit') and his current masterpiece is an unbelieveable remix of the French entry to the Eurovision song contest, 'Divine' by Sebastien Tellier.
''His music is the image of feelings and the most extreme feelings of our existence; ecstasy, anxiety, fright, sublime, death throes. It is a matter here of life and death, win, but under no circumstances, defeat.''
-Ekler'o'shock Records
Not only is Danger performing live, he'll be accompanied by a full live visual show, to better convey the emotions he feels are attached to his music...
Danger is set to be one of the most impressive shows that Chemistry has ever seen (or might see!), and CAN'T be missed!
